JOB TITLE: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

REPORTS TO: SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
LOCATION: REMOTE (Planned Quarterly Visits to Company HQ in Vienna, VA)
Overview: SolaREIT’s mission is to acquire, develop, & manage climate-friendly solar assets that support the transformation to a low-carbon economy. We are seeking an individual who is looking for a high growth, fast paced opportunity with a well-funded and rapidly growing organization. The Business Development Director is responsible for identifying lease acquisitions, land acquisitions, and solar land loan transactions by forming and maintaining excellent relationships with solar and battery storage developers, asset owners and landowners. We are seeking an energetic, personable individual who is a self-starter with 3+years experience in the distributed-generation, utility-scale solar or BESS market, with a great track record of signing and closing deals.

Core Job Responsibilities
Originate distributed generation and utility-scale solar business opportunities with developers, asset owners, and landowners for land acquisition, lease acquisition, and loans.
Build and manage a sales pipeline from scratch, identifying high-probability opportunities and demonstrating the grit to pursue ambitious goals and the resilience to move forward after setbacks.
Proactively identify, target, and initiate contact with cold prospects to generate new business opportunities, leveraging research, networking, and outreach strategies to build a robust sales pipeline.
Quickly assess the viability of deals, prioritize efforts, and confidently walk away from low-probability opportunities to maximize time and impact.
Build and maintain a sales pipeline including data input, tracking and reporting in CRM.
Assist the closing team with communicating due diligence process to drive deals to efficient close.
Develop, manage, and communicate deal pipeline status via regular updates to the SVP and the Executive team.
Manage day-to-day tasks with precision and autonomy, optimizing productivity with minimal oversight.
Collaborate with internal and external marketing teams to plan and coordinate partner/customer marketing efforts.
Work with analysts to price prospective deals in 24-48 hours, with an attention to detail and quality control.
Put together presentations, term sheets, and pricing proposals with an attention to detail to secure land acquisitions, lease acquisitions, and loans.
Attend solar and BESS trade shows, community events, networking events and other regional business development events.
Travel as needed to meet with key accounts and partners.
Compile lists of prospective partners for use as business development leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, websites, interconnection queues, state and local permitting agencies, and other sources.

What You Need to be Successful
4+ years of experience working in a Business Development role.
Proven track record networking with business partners, solar developers, landowners, or equivalent.
Strong experience in a process-based sales approach, starting from initial prospecting to contacting potential partners, and supporting the closing of transactions.
Experience in closing renewable energy transactions; 3+ years’ experience in the solar and/or the BESS industry required.
College degree required, advanced degree a plus.
High level of proficiency with Excel and all Office365 programs, including Word, and PowerPoint and Adobe.
Strong working knowledge of a CRM; Salesforce preferred.

We are looking for an individual passionate about renewable energy to join our close-knit, dynamic team who is excited by a high-growth opportunity with a well-funded and rapidly growing organization. The Paralegal will have the unique opportunity to work with SolaREIT’s partners to close deals and support the deployment of renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented, possess exceptional prioritization skills, and demonstrate a positive, results-driven attitude aligned with a strong commitment to achieving goals. The Paralegal is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver leases, estoppels, purchase agreements, loan agreements and other documents on time, forming and maintaining excellent relationships with solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) developers, outside counsel and title companies. We are seeking an individual with experience in real estate, title work, and/or renewable energy development.

· Ensure complete documentation for each closing and systematic filing in a timely manner, in accordance with the Company’s policies.
· Develop and implement document management system and ensure data integrity (version control, completeness of exhibits, signatures) across the Company.
· Manage and implement the legal components of SolaREIT’s diligence and closing processes, ensuring timelines are met, and all stakeholder deliverables are on time and accounted for.
· Draft, review and negotiate estoppels, leases, consents, and other documents.
· Work with the finance team to organize and track key closing items and drive deals to efficient and streamlined close with minimum burden to our developer-partners.
· Facilitate title review, coordinating with title companies and outside counsel.
· Support other legal projects on an ad hoc basis, including NDAs and corporate compliance.

· Bachelor’s degree required, PMP certification a plus.
· High level of proficiency with Adobe, DocuSign, and Office 365 (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
