This month, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Yousra Hamzaoui, one of our newest SolaREIT Analysts. Yousra’s unique perspective, analytical expertise, and dedication to our mission make her an invaluable part of our team.  

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.   

I recently graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Computer Science. As a second-generation Moroccan American and the first in my family to graduate from college, achieving this milestone is particularly meaningful to me. Joining SolaREIT as an analyst represents a proud moment in my journey. Since then, I’ve been excited to apply my technical skills and analytical mindset to contribute to our innovative approach in the clean energy sector!  

Tell us about your journey and what inspired you to join SolaREIT?  

From an early age, I’ve been driven by a desire to have a positive impact on the future. My background in computer science has equipped me with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, which I’ve always hoped to apply in a meaningful way. When the opportunity to join SolaREIT arose, it perfectly aligned with my passion for sustainability and innovation. The chance to be part of a team that’s making a tangible impact in the renewable energy sector was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.  

What has been your most rewarding project or experience at SolaREIT, and why?   

One of my most rewarding experiences at SolaREIT has been seeing a clean energy real estate financing deal I helped work on close! After helping to finalize the deal, I felt a profound sense of accomplishment at that moment. Knowing that this project will contribute to the growth of clean energy and have a lasting positive impact on the environment made the experience gratifying. It’s fulfilling to see how our efforts translate into real-world benefits and advancements in renewable energy.  

How do you see the future of renewable energy, and what role do you think SolaREIT will play in that future?   

The shift to clean energy is crucial for a sustainable future. SolaREIT plays a key role by supporting the deployment of solar and energy storage infrastructure and accelerating the transition to clean energy. Without our efforts, achieving a smooth transition would be much more difficult and time-consuming. By driving innovation and investment in solar projects, SolaREIT helps pave the way for a cleaner, more resilient energy landscape.  

What is something that has surprised you about working at SolaREIT?   

What surprised me about working at SolaREIT was how welcoming the team is; everyone has been incredibly kind in answering my questions and supporting me in learning the ins and outs of the sector. I feel like most of the success that I’ve had here is entirely due to the support that I’ve been given along the way.  

What are your hobbies outside of the office?   

Outside of the office, my hobbies include playing video games and hosting board game nights with my friends. I love to travel whenever possible, and I try my best at drawing, singing, and playing the ukulele!
